Battery Merges Quartet of Mapping Software Startups

Earlier this spring, Battery launched VertiGIS Ltd., a new company that brings together the capabilities of four leading geographic-information systems (GIS) companies whose proprietary technology helps small and large customers better harness the power of GIS and location intelligence. VertiGIS will leverage technology from Esri, the global leader in location intelligence. VertiGIS has over 400 employees across offices in six countries and serves more than 1,600 customers.


AED-SICAD Acquires the Dynamic Design Group

AED-SICAD (now part of VertiGIS), a leading geographic information-systems (GIS) company, has recently acquired the Dynamic Design Group, which develops, sells, implements and maintains software solutions for the planning and management of telecommunications networks.


Alogent Buys FinanceGeniusTM from IntelliEngines, Inc.

Alogent, a company helping financial institutions reduce costs, increase transaction processing efficiencies, mitigate fraud, and optimize the customer experience, acquired FinanceGeniusTM, a suite of lending software, from IntelliEngines, Inc.


AED-SICAD Announces Acquisition of Geocom

AED-SICAD (now part of VertiGIS), a Battery portfolio company in the geographic-information systems (GIS) market, has acquired Switzerland-based Geocom Group, a provider of GIS technology for markets including utilities, transport and logistics.


Forterro Acquires of ERP Vendor Abas Software AG

Forterro, a group of European ERP software companies, has entered into an agreement to acquire German-based Abas Software AG, a privately held vendor that provides a complete ERP portfolio to 4,000 mid-market manufacturing and distribution businesses around the world.


Battery Hosts European Leaders Dinner in London

In May, Battery gathered leaders from some of its European portfolio companies and several Battery investment-team members for drinks, dinner and discussion regarding Battery's work in Europe. The event also involved peer networking where attendees shared their experiences in building companies in EMEA.

New Executive-in-Residence Joins Private Equity Team 

Andy Rothery, an experienced global executive with significant experience helping companies use digital and content-enabled services to transform businesses, will work to find and assess potential software investments, with a focus on software and data-services companies based in Europe.


Executive-in-Residence Works with Industrial Tech Team

Thomas Reslewic works with Battery’s industrial technology investment group. Previously he managed a portfolio of companies that produce a range of scientific instruments, environmental monitoring equipment, test and measurement instruments, microwave-communication solutions and defense electronics.
